John Lee Hooker a fost un cântăreț, chitarist și compozitor american de blues care și-a dezvoltat stilul său caracteristic de driving-rhythm boogie, distinct de boogie-woogie-ul de pian. În 2015, revista Rolling Stone l-a plasat pe locul 35 în topul celor mai buni 100 de chitariști.
Albumul The Healer a fost lansat pe vinil și prezintă colaborarea lui Hooker cu artiști de vârf din rock și blues. Pe înregistrare apar ca invitați Carlos Santana & the Santana Band, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Canned Heat, Los Lobos, George Thorogood și Charlie Musselwhite.
