Lenny Kravitz este un cântăreț, compozitor și multiinstrumentist american, al cărui stil îmbină rock, soul, funk, reggae și muzică psihedelică. De-a lungul carierei sale a câștigat mai multe premii Grammy pentru cea mai bună interpretare vocală rock masculină.
Albumul Mama Said a apărut în aprilie 1991 la casa de discuri Virgin Records, fiind al doilea album de studio al artistului. La piesa Always on the Run a colaborat ca autor și muzician invitat chitaristul Slash de la Guns N' Roses, care cântă și pe piesa Fields of Joy. Piesa All I Ever Wanted a fost creată împreună cu Sean Lennon. Printre piesele remarcabile se numără single-ul de succes It Ain't Over 'til It's Over și What Goes Around Comes Around. În 2012 a apărut o ediție extinsă pe două discuri, cu remixuri și înregistrări bonus.
