Paul McCartney este un cântăreț, compozitor și multi-instrumentist britanic, care s-a remarcat inițial ca membru fondator al The Beatles. Parteneriatul său creativ cu John Lennon rămâne unul dintre cele mai prolifice din istoria muzicii populare. După destrămarea formației în 1970, a înființat trupa Wings și a continuat o carieră solo de succes.
Albumul Good Evening New York City a apărut în 2009 la casa de discuri Hear Music pe dublu CD și cuprinde înregistrări din cele trei concerte — 17, 18 și 21 iulie 2009 — care au inaugurat noul stadion Citi Field din New York în cadrul turneului Summer Live '09. Peste 180 000 de bilete s-au vândut în câteva ore de la anunț. Pe cele 33 de piese se regăsesc capodopere din epoca Beatles și Wings — Band on the Run, Let It Be, Live and Let Die, Eleanor Rigby — și piese din albumele solo ale lui McCartney. Este a treia sa lansare la Hear Music, după albumul de studio Memory Almost Full și EP-ul live Amoeba's Secret.
