Mercyful Fate este o trupă daneză de heavy metal fondată în 1981 la Copenhaga, care a influențat dezvoltarea genurilor heavy metal și black metal. Trupa a devenit renumită pentru atmosfera sa întunecată, compoziții complexe și vocea distinctivă.
Albumul Return Of The Vampire a apărut într-o reeditare în 2020 pe CD. Conține nouă piese, inclusiv Burning the Cross, Curse of the Pharaohs și Return of the Vampire. Înregistrarea reprezintă sonoritatea heavy metal tipică a trupei cu elemente de thrash metal.
