Thunder este o trupă britanică de hard rock fondată la Londra în 1989. Piesele lor rock melodice, care îmbină elemente de rock clasic, blues și hard rock, au cucerit scena prin marile hituri de arenă „Dirty Love” și „Love Walked In” de pe albumul lor de debut Backstreet Symphony.
Giving the Game Away este al cincilea album de studio al trupei, înregistrat în aprilie 1998 și produs de chitaristul Luke Morley. Inițial a fost lansat în Japonia prin casa de discuri Victor Entertainment în februarie 1999, ulterior a urmat lansarea europeană. Albumul conține 13 piese, inclusiv piese energice de hard rock precum Just Another Suicide, Rolling the Dice sau coverul Play That Funky Music. Ediția japoneză include două piese bonus – înregistrări live Wonderland și The Only One. Giving the Game Away a fost ultimul album de studio al trupei înainte de prima desființare în 2000. Reediția din 2023 este lansată în format digipack cu patru panouri și un booklet de șaisprezece pagini.
La album au participat Danny Bowes (voce), Luke Morley (chitară), Ben Matthews (chitară), Chris Childs (chitară bas) și Gary „Harry” James (tobe).
