Jeff Beck a fost unul dintre cei mai importanți chitariști din istoria rockului. Muzicianul britanic a devenit celebru ca membru al legendarei trupe The Yardbirds, unde l-a înlocuit pe Eric Clapton și a cântat alături de Jimmy Page. După ce a părăsit grupul la sfârșitul anului 1966, a fondat propria formație Jeff Beck Group și mai târziu supergrupul Beck, Bogert & Appice. De la mijlocul anilor '70, s-a concentrat pe muzică instrumentală combinând blues rock, hard rock și elemente de jazz. În 1992 a fost inclus în Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Boxul Original Album Classics a fost lansat în 2008 la casa de discuri Epic și cuprinde cinci albume pe CD cu un total de 40 de piese. Compilația acoperă o perioadă esențială din cariera lui Beck, când a experimentat cu blues rock, fusion și elemente electronice.
