Epica este o formație olandeză de metal simfonic fondată de chitaristul Mark Jansen după plecarea sa din After Forever. Muzica lor îmbină vocalele operistice ale lui Simone Simons cu elemente death metal și influențe progresive, textele abordând adesea teme filosofice.
Setul Omega Alive, format din patru discuri (Blu-ray, DVD și 2 CD), surprinde spectacolul live din 2021 și a fost lansat la casa de discuri Nuclear Blast. Setul conține 46 de piese, inclusiv Abyss of Time: Countdown to Singularity, The Skeleton Key, Unchain Utopia și suita amplă Kingdom of Heaven.
La momentul lansării, componența era formată din Simone Simons (voce), Mark Jansen (chitară), Isaac Delahaye (chitară), Coen Janssen (clape, voci de fundal), Rob van der Loo (chitară bas) și Ariën van Weesenbeek (tobe).
