Super Furry Animals este o trupă de rock galeză fondată în 1993 la Cardiff, a cărei muzică îmbină rock-ul psihedelic cu elemente de electronică, punk și rock progresiv. Mulți critici o consideră, alături de Manic Street Preachers și Stereophonics, una dintre cele mai importante formații muzicale galeze.
Rings Around the World este al cincilea album de studio al grupului și debutul lor la o casă de discuri majoră – a fost lansat pe 23 iulie 2001 la Epic Records. Albumul a ocupat locul al treilea în clasamentul britanic și a fost primul din istorie care a apărut simultan pe audio CD și DVD. Discul eclectic din punct de vedere muzical îmbină pop, rock progresiv, jungle, electronică, techno, punk și death metal. În 2001 a fost nominalizat la premiul Mercury, iar revista Mojo l-a desemnat albumul anului. Conține 13 piese, printre care single-urile Juxtapozed with u, (Drawing) Rings Around the World și It's Not the End of the World?. Pe înregistrare au participat ca invitați legendele muzicale Paul McCartney și John Cale.
La momentul lansării, formația era alcătuită din Gruff Rhys (chitară, voce), Huw Bunford (chitară), Guto Pryce (chitară bas), Cian Ciaran (clape, sintetizatoare) și Dafydd Ieuan (tobe).
