Thunder este o trupă britanică de hard rock formată în 1989 după destrămarea formației Terraplane. Are în frunte pe carismaticul vocalist Danny Bowes și pe chitaristul Luke Morley, a căror colaborare a conferit formației un sunet caracteristic ce combină energia hard rock-ului cu elemente melodice.
Albumul Back Street Symphony a fost lansat în martie 1990 la casa de discuri EMI Records și a fost înregistrat în studioul Great Linford Manor. Producător a fost Andy Taylor, chitaristul trupei Duran Duran, iar mixajul a avut loc la legendarul AIR Studios. Albumul a ajuns pe locul 21 în clasamentul britanic și a primit certificare de aur. Conține în total 14 piese, inclusiv hiturile Dirty Love și Love Walked In, care au intrat în Top 40, plus trei înregistrări bonus live. Succesul albumului a fost confirmat și de apariția la festivalul Monsters of Rock în același an.
Pe album au colaborat Danny Bowes, Luke Morley, toboșarul Gary „Harry” James, basistul Mark „Snake” Luckhurst și chitaristul Ben Matthews.
