Thunder este o trupă britanică de hard rock fondată în 1989, când vocalistul Danny Bowes, chitaristul Luke Morley și toboșarul Gary „Harry” James au părăsit formația Terraplane. Grupul a câștigat rapid popularitate în Marea Britanie și Japonia datorită rockului de arenă cu accente melodice.
Albumul Laughing on Judgement Day a apărut pe vinil în august 1992 la casa de discuri Geffen Records. Este al doilea album de studio al formației, înregistrat între februarie și iunie 1992 la Outside Studios din Checkendon. Discul a ajuns pe locul doi în topul britanic și a fost recompensat cu disc de aur. Conține 14 piese, printre care se remarcă Does It Feel Like Love?, Empty City și Laughing on Judgement Day, piesa de titlu.
În momentul înregistrării, Thunder activa în formula cu cinci membri – alături de Bowes, Morley și James, basistul Mark „Snake” Luckhurst și chitaristul Ben Matthews completau trupa.
