Afflicted a fost o trupă suedeză de death metal din Stockholm, activă între 1988 și 1995. Cânta technical death metal cu elemente de thrash metal și specific scenei suedeze de death metal, descriindu-și propriul stil ca fiind „Psychodelic Ultraviolent Heavy Grindcore”.
Albumul Prodigal Sun apare ca reeditare pe vinil. Înregistrarea prezintă sunetul caracteristic al trupei — pasaje rapide și furioase alternând cu momente mai lente și mai grele. Pe album se regăsesc piese precum Harbouring the Soul, Rising To the Sun sau The Doomwatcher's Prediction.
