Alphaville este o formație germană de synthpop înființată în 1982 în orașul Münster. Numele a fost preluat de la filmul omonim al lui Jean-Luc Godard din 1965, formația devenind cunoscută prin hituri precum Big In Japan, Forever Young și Sounds Like a Melody.
Prostitute este cel de-al patrulea album de studio, lansat la 26 august 1994 de casa de discuri WEA. Discul reprezintă o schimbare stilistică de la sound-ul tipic de sintetizatoare spre aranjamente mai rock. Conține 16 piese, printre care Fools, The Impossible Dream sau piesa de aproape șapte minute Euphoria. Ediția pe vinil include un booklet de 24 de pagini.
La album au contribuit Marian Gold (voce), Bernhard Lloyd (claviaturi), Ricky Echolette (chitară, claviaturi), Robbie France (tobe), David Goodes (chitară), Jakob Kiersch (tobe), Martin Lister (claviaturi) și Rainer Bloss.
