Ayreon este un proiect de metal progresiv al multiinstrumentalistului și compozitorului olandez Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Muzica proiectului îmbină elemente de progressive metal, rock și power metal cu aranjamente orchestrale, iar fiecare album prezintă povești complexe de science fiction în care fiecare personaj este interpretat de un vocalist invitat diferit.
Compilația Universal Migrator, Part I & II a apărut în 2004 la casa de discuri Music Theories Recordings ca set de trei discuri care conține în total 30 de piese. Acest concept reunește albumele The Dream Sequencer și Flight of the Migrator, inițial lansate separat, într-un singur tot. Povestea urmărește un suflet uman în călătoria sa prin timp și spațiu, de la civilizații străvechi, prin epoci istorice până la evadarea printr-o gaură neagră. Printre piesele remarcabile se numără The Dream Sequencer, Into the Black Hole și Dawn of a Million Souls.
La album au colaborat Arjen Anthony Lucassen, bateristul Ed Warby, precum și Joost van den Broek, Jeroen Goossens și Ben Mathot.
