Chet Baker (1929–1988) a fost un trompetist de jazz și vocalist american, figură centrală a cool jazz-ului, supranumit „Prințul cool jazz-ului”. A colaborat cu Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz și Charlie Parker. În 1987 a fost introdus în Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame.
Albumul As Time Goes By pe vinil colorat roșu translucid prezintă amestecul distinctiv al lui Baker de interpretare lirică la trompetă și stil vocal. Înregistrarea cuprinde standarde de jazz precum You and the Night and the Music, piesa titulară As Time Goes By, 'Round Midnight sau Angel Eyes, care dezvăluie interpretarea sensibilă a lui Baker și intonația caracteristică cool jazz-ului și vocal jazz-ului.
