Black Sabbath este o trupă britanică considerată printre fondatorii heavy metalului și una dintre formațiile esențiale din istoria rockului. Înființat la Birmingham în 1968 de Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne și Bill Ward, grupul a definit genul prin primele trei albume și prin stilul cu riff-uri de chitară puternice și texte cu tentă horror.
Reeditarea pe două CD-uri a albumului Mob Rules conține al doilea material cu vocalistul Ronnie James Dio și primul cu bateristul Vinny Appice, lansat inițial în noiembrie 1981 de casa de discuri Sanctuary Records. Albumul a continuat succesul lui Heaven and Hell din 1980 și cuprinde în total 31 de piese, incluzând înregistrări de studio, versiunea piesei care dă titlul albumului din coloana sonoră a filmului Heavy Metal, un mixaj nou din 2021 și înregistrări live de la concerte din Londra și Portland, SUA.
La data lansării, formula era compusă din Ronnie James Dio (voce), Geoff Nicholls (clape) și Vinny Appice (tobe).
