James Brown a fost un cântăreț, compozitor și producător american care a avut un impact fundamental asupra evoluției muzicii soul și funk. Piesele sale au influențat semnificativ și hip-hopul, iar el a primit porecla The Godfather of Soul.
Albumul Say It Live and Loud (Live in Dallas 08.26.68) pe dublu vinil a fost lansat în 1998 de casa de discuri Republic Records. Înregistrarea provine dintr-un concert la Dallas Memorial Auditorium din 26 august 1968, la scurt timp după lansarea piesei Say It Loud – I'm Black and I'm Proud. Albumul prezintă una dintre puținele versiuni live ale acestei piese, împreună cu reacțiile publicului.
