Albumul Songs of Passion lansat de casa de discuri Erato aduce pe CD o colecție de piese vocale și instrumentale ale lui John Dowland și Henry Purcell, compozitori englezi născuți la o distanță de aproape un secol. În timp ce Dowland evocă cu succes melancolia dragostei în piesele sale intime pentru voce și lăută, muzica lui Henry Purcell — cel mai mare compozitor al erei baroce născut în Marea Britanie — cuprinde o bogată varietate de stări și emoții. Albumul reprezintă o completare binevenită la înregistrările anterioare, înrudite tematic, ale acestui trio la Erato („Eternal Heaven”, „Idylle” și „Amazone”).
