Trupa suedeză Dismember face parte dintre pionierii death metalului suedez – formația din Stockholm, fondată în 1988, se numără, alături de Entombed, Grave și Unleashed, printre „cei patru mari” ai genului în Suedia. Sunetul lor a definit stilul death metalului nordic în anii '90.
Albumul Death Metal este disponibil pe CD într-o reeditare din 2023. Pe lângă piesele de studio, oferă patru bonusuri de pe EP-ul Misanthropic (Pagan Saviour, Shadowlands, Afterimage, Shapeshifter) și piesa Hill 112 de pe compilația Death...is just the Beginning IV.
