Marianne Faithfull (1946–2025) a fost o cântăreață și actriță britanică care în anii '60 s-a numărat printre principalele reprezentante feminine ale invaziei britanice în SUA. S-a impus cu hitul As Tears Go By și a devenit o iconă a epocii.
Albumul de debut omonim a fost lansat în aprilie 1965 la casa de discuri Decca Records. Pe lângă hitul As Tears Go By, conține piese baladice precum Come and Stay With Me, Time Takes Time sau Plaisir D'amour. Albumul o prezintă pe Faithfull la începutul carierei și reflectă spiritul scenei pop britanice din anii '60.
