Grateful Dead a fost o formație americană de rock fondată în 1965 în Palo Alto, California, cunoscută pentru stilul său eclectic care îmbina elemente de rock, blues, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, gospel și reggae cu psychedelia. Formația s-a remarcat prin lungi improvizații în timpul concertelor și baza sa devotată de fani cunoscuți sub numele de „Deadheads”. În 2007, formația a primit premiul Grammy pentru întreaga carieră.
Compilația The Best of the Grateful Dead Live a apărut în martie 2018 la casa de discuri Rhino și reunește 19 piese înregistrate live, anterior publicate pe albumele de concert ale formației. Treisprezece dintre ele apar în varianta de studio pe albumul The Best Of The Grateful Dead, celelalte șase nu au fost niciodată înregistrate în studio. Printre piesele remarcabile se numără Truckin', Touch of Grey, Eyes of the World și Morning Dew.
