Iron Maiden este o trupă britanică de heavy metal fondată în 1975 de basistul Steve Harris, pionier al New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Influența sa asupra metalului a fost fundamentală; de la lansarea albumului de debut în 1980, a devenit una dintre cele mai stabile și mai de succes trupe din gen pe plan comercial.
Death on the Road este a șasea înregistrare live a trupei, lansată în 2005 de casa de discuri Parlophone. Albumul a fost înregistrat pe 24 noiembrie 2003 la Westfalenhallen din Dortmund în timpul turneului dedicat albumului Dance of Death. Acest dublu vinil conține 16 piese, printre care se numără clasice precum Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear of the Dark, The Number of the Beast sau Run to the Hills, alături de hituri mai recente de pe albumele Brave New World și Dance of Death. Mixajul original a fost realizat de Kevin Shirley, iar editarea de Steve Harris.
La album au contribuit Steve Harris (chitară bas, voce de fundal, clape), Nicko McBrain (tobe, percuție) și Janick Gers (chitară).
