Meat Loaf (pe numele real Marvin Lee Aday) a fost un cântăreț american de rock și pop-rock și actor, una dintre cele mai mari icoane ale scenei rock. Cea mai importantă realizare a sa este considerată trilogia Bat Out of Hell, din al cărei prim volum s-au vândut peste 40 de milioane de exemplare. Laureat al premiului Grammy pentru piesa I'd Do Anything for Love, se numără printre cei mai bine vânduți artiști muzicali din toate timpurile.
Albumul Hits Out of Hell a fost lansat în 1984 la casa de discuri Epic ca o compilație a șapte compoziții semnate de Jim Steinman, completată cu hitul Modern Girl de pe albumul Bad Attitude, lansat la acea vreme.
