Melvins este o trupă americană de sludge metal al cărei sunet întunecat și greu a influențat semnificativ apariția grunge-ului și doom metal-ului. Încă din primii ani îmbină muzica inspirată de Black Flag și Black Sabbath cu un umor bizar și o abordare experimentală. Nucleul este format din vocalistul și chitaristul Buzz Osborne și bateristul Dale Crover.
Five Legged Dog a apărut pe 15 octombrie 2021 la casa de discuri Ipecac Recordings ca al 25-lea album de studio al trupei. Albumul oferă versiuni acustice ale pieselor de pe albumele anterioare – pentru prima dată în istoria grupului o prelucrare pur acustică. Acest album dublu conține 36 de piese și surprinde pe Melvins într-o ipostază neobișnuită, unde sonoritatea grea lasă loc interpretării de cameră. Printre piese regăsim Hooch, Honey Bucket sau Hung Bunny / Roman Dog Bird de doisprezece minute.
La album au colaborat Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, Jared Warren, Coady Willis, JD Pinkus, Adam Jones, Paul Leary și Matt Lukin.
