Mental Cruelty este o trupă germană de blackened deathcore din Karlsruhe, înființată în 2016. Muzica lor îmbină elemente de death metal, slam și black metal cu un stil vocal brutal și pasaje orchestrale epice.
Albumul Purgatorium a fost lansat într-o ediție limitată reeditată din 2022 pe CD. Conține opt piese, printre care se remarcă The Rise of the Antichrist, Vicarius Filii Die sau Immortalising Purgatory. Această ediție oferă în plus versiuni instrumentale ale tuturor celor opt piese, permițând ascultătorilor să se concentreze asupra instrumentației complexe și orchestrațiilor atmosferice fără secțiunea vocală.
