Motörhead a fost o formație britanică de rock și heavy metal fondată în 1975 de basistul și vocalistul Ian „Lemmy” Kilmister, considerată unul dintre pionierii noului val al heavy metal-ului britanic. Trupa s-a remarcat prin sunetul agresiv, vocea marcantă a lui Lemmy și energia fără compromisuri la granița dintre heavy metal, speed metal și rock'n'roll.
Iron Fist a apărut în aprilie 1982 la casa de discuri Bronze Records și s-a clasat pe locul 6 în clasamentul britanic de albume. A fost al cincilea album de studio al trupei și totodată ultima înregistrare a formației clasice Three Amigos. Piesa care dă titlul albumului Iron Fist a fost lansată ca single, ajungând pe locul 29 în UK. Ediția pe două CD-uri conține 44 de piese, inclusiv versiuni alternative și piese instrumentale bonus precum Sponge Cake sau Peter Gunn.
La momentul lansării albumului, Motörhead era format din Lemmy Kilmister (chitară bas, voce), Phil „Philthy Animal” Taylor (tobe), Eddie Clarke (chitară) și Brian Robertson (chitară).
