Muse este o formație rock engleză compusă din Matt Bellamy (chitară, voce, clape), Dominic Howard (tobe) și Christopher Wolstenholme (chitară bas, voci de fundal). Din punct de vedere muzical, combină rock alternativ și progresiv cu influențe de muzică clasică, electronică și heavy metal, fiind cunoscuți pentru spectacolele live energice și vizual impresionante.
Absolution a apărut în septembrie 2003 la Taste Media și a devenit primul album al formației care a ocupat prima poziție în clasamentele de vânzări din Regatul Unit și Franța. Din punct de vedere sonor, îmbină riff-uri de chitară bombastice („Stockholm Syndrome”), ritmuri funk („Time Is Running Out”) și pasaje orchestrale de pian („Butterflies & Hurricanes”), iar versurile abordează teme legate de frică, neîncredere și viziuni apocaliptice influențate de începutul războiului din Irak. Single-urile de succes Time Is Running Out și Hysteria au ajutat formația să pătrundă pe piața americană. Ediția aniversară pe 5 CD-uri include înregistrarea originală remasterizată, versiuni de concert și demo inedite, precum și materiale bonus pentru colecționari.
