The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher George Latore Wallace) a fost un rapper american de pe coasta de est, considerat unul dintre cei mai importanți și influenți artiști din istoria hip-hopului. Albumul său Life After Death a obținut certificarea disc de diamant pentru vânzările din SUA, un succes rar în hip-hop.
Albumul Life After Death a fost lansat la 25 martie 1997 la casa de discuri Bad Boy Entertainment, la doar șaisprezece zile după asasinarea lui Wallace. Acest dublu album continuă linia debutului său Ready to Die (1994) și aprofundează stilul mafioso rap. La înregistrări au colaborat Jay-Z, Lil' Kim, R. Kelly, Mase, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony și alții. Hiturile single includ piesele Hypnotize, Mo Money Mo Problems și Sky's the Limit.
