Oblivion Protocol este o super-trupă britanică de metal progresiv fondată de Richard West, claviaturist și vocalist cunoscut din trupa Threshold. Proiectul reunește muzicieni experimentați din scena metal europeană.
Albumul The Fall of the Shires a fost lansat în 2023 la casa de discuri Atomic Fire și reprezintă continuarea unui concept pe care West l-a dezvoltat în albumul Threshold „Legends of the Shires” din 2017. Înregistrarea conține 8 piese, inclusiv compoziția-titlu în două părți The Fall, precum și piesele Tormented, This Is Not a Test și Forests in the Fallout. Sonoritatea generală îmbină structuri progresive cu o expresie metalică puternică.
La album au colaborat Ruud Jolie de la Within Temptation la chitară, Simon Andersson, fost membru Pain of Salvation, la bas și Darby Todd la tobe.
