Pantera este o trupă americană de thrash metal din Arlington, Texas, fondată în 1981 de frații Abbott. Formația a jucat un rol esențial în formarea groove metal-ului și este considerată una dintre cele mai influente trupe de metal ale anilor '90.
Reinventing the Steel, lansat în 2000 de casa de discuri Elektra, este cel de-al nouălea și ultimul album de studio al formației — ultima înregistrare înaintea dizolvării trupei în 2003 și, totodată, ultimul album la care au participat frații Abbott, Dimebag Darrell și Vinnie Paul. Această ediție deluxe aniversară de 20 de ani oferă material pe 3 CD-uri (în total 39 de piese), incluzând noul mixaj realizat de Terry Date, versiuni remasterizate și înregistrări bonus precum Avoid the Light din filmul Dracula 2000. Din punct de vedere sonor, albumul revine la rădăcinile thrash metal-ului și stilului groove metal prin care Pantera s-a consacrat.
La realizarea albumului au participat Phil Anselmo (voce), Dimebag Darrell (chitară), Rex Brown (bas), Vinnie Paul (tobe) și Rick Mythiasin (voce).
