Alexandre Desplat este un compozitor francez de muzică de film, deținător a două premii Oscar pentru coloanele sonore ale filmelor Grandhotel Budapešť (2014) și The Shape of Water (2017). Și-a construit reputația prin munca la peste 150 de producții cinematografice și de televiziune.
Coloana sonoră Grandhotel Budapešť a fost lansată în 2014 de casa de discuri ABKCO Records. Muzica pentru comedia regizorului Wes Anderson se deosebește de colaborările lor anterioare — în loc de hituri pop contemporane, Desplat se inspiră aici din rădăcinile clasice, care corespund atmosferei istorice a poveștii. Albumul conține 25 de piese, inclusiv compoziția centrală în trei părți Mr Moustafa, precum și Boy With Apple, The Society of the Crossed Keys sau Escape Concerto + The War (Prelude).
