Tina Turner a fost o cântăreață americană de pop și rock, cu o voce răgușită caracteristică, recunoscută drept Regina rock'n'roll-ului, cu vânzări de peste 100 de milioane de albume la nivel mondial. Și-a început cariera în anii '60 în duetul Ike & Tina Turner, iar după separare, în anii '80, a demarat o carieră solo de mare succes.
Albumul de compilație Simply The Best a apărut în 1991 și reunește hiturile sale cele mai populare din perioada de comeback a anilor '80 și a începutului anilor '90. Albumul dublu pe vinil conține piese precum The Best, What's Love Got to Do with It, Private Dancer sau We Don't Need Another Hero, plus trei piese noi (Love Thing, I Want You Near Me, Way of the World) și o versiune dance prelucrată a piesei Nutbush City Limits.
