Frank Zappa a fost un muzician, compozitor și producător american, unul dintre marii experimentatori din istoria muzicii rock. Munca sa a fost caracterizată de improvizații libere, experimentare sonoră, virtuozitate și o viziune satirică asupra culturii americane. În cariera sa de peste 30 de ani, s-a dedicat mai multor genuri – muzică rock și pop, jazz, jazz fusion, lucrări orchestrale și musique concrète. A produs majoritatea celor peste 60 de albume pe care le-a lansat solo sau cu grupul The Mothers of Invention.
Compilația The Hot Rats Sessions a fost lansată în 2019 la casa de discuri Zappa Records, cu ocazia celei de-a 50-a aniversări a albumului Hot Rats. Setul de 6 CD-uri în ambalaj din plastic cuprinde 67 de înregistrări, inclusiv prototipuri, versiuni de lucru și înregistrări master ale unor piese precum Peaches en Regalia, Willie the Pimp sau It Must Be a Camel. Aceasta oferă o perspectivă unică asupra procesului creativ al unuia dintre cei mai inovatori și stilistic diverși muzicieni rock ai generației sale.
