Chet Baker a fost un trompetist, vocalist și flugelhornist american de jazz, una dintre figurile cheie ale cool jazz-ului anilor 1950. A colaborat cu saxofoniști importanți precum Stan Getz, Charlie Parker și Paul Desmond. În 1987 a fost introdus în Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame.
Albumul Chet Baker Sings a fost lansat în 1954 de casa de discuri Pacific Jazz Records ca primul album vocal al lui Baker. În 2001 a primit distincția Grammy Hall of Fame Award. Baker a revenit la piesele de pe acest album pe tot parcursul carierei sale – în special My Funny Valentine a devenit piesa sa emblematică, pe care o includea regulat în spectacolele de concert. Ediția CD în format DigiBook cuprinde paisprezece piese, inclusiv That Old Feeling, I Fall in Love Too Easily și The Thrill Is Gone.
