Black Sabbath este o trupă britanică de heavy metal fondată la Birmingham în 1968, considerată pionieră a genului și o formație esențială a hard rock-ului anilor '70. Influența lor asupra dezvoltării heavy metalului și doom metalului este fundamentală.
Technical Ecstasy, lansat de casa de discuri BMG în octombrie 1976, este al șaptelea album de studio al trupei și reprezintă o continuare a direcției mai experimentale a formației. Albumul cuprinde 34 de piese distribuite pe 4 CD – materialul original complet remasterizat, mixuri alternative, versiuni instrumentale și piese inedite, inclusiv înregistrări live. Printre melodii se remarcă Dirty Women, Rock 'n' Roll Doctor sau Gypsy. Din punct de vedere sonor, albumul se îndepărtează de sunetul inițial sumbru al Black Sabbath spre un hard rock mai variat, cu o utilizare mai accentuată a claviaturii și aranjamente experimentale.
La momentul lansării albumului, trupa era formată din Tony Iommi (chitară), Geezer Butler (chitară bas), Ozzy Osbourne (voce) și Bill Ward (tobe).
