Blackmore's Night este o trupă americano-britanică de muzică folk-rock inspirată de muzica renascentistă, condusă de chitaristul Ritchie Blackmore (fost Deep Purple și Rainbow) și cântăreața Candice Night. Duo-ul îmbină pasiunea pentru estetica medievală cu o abordare rock modernă, creând o lume muzicală unică, plină de romantism și nostalgie.
Shadow of the Moon a fost lansat în iunie 1997 ca album de debut al trupei la casa de discuri earMUSIC Classics și a înregistrat un succes notabil – în Germania a rămas în topuri timp de 17 săptămâni, iar în Japonia a primit certificare de aur pentru 100 000 de exemplare vândute. Această ediție CD cu două discuri cuprinde în total 21 de înregistrări: albumul original completat cu înregistrări bonus de acasă Shadow of the Moon și Spirit of the Sea din sesiunea aniversară a lui Ritchie și Candice; al doilea disc include o poveste documentară despre crearea albumului și videoclipuri pentru trei piese. Printre înregistrările principale se numără piesa titulară Shadow of the Moon, Play Minstrel Play și tradiționalul Greensleeves.
