Jethro Tull este o formație britanică de rock, a cărei figură centrală este vocalistul, compozitorul și flautistul Ian Anderson. Formația a fost înființată în 1967 și a devenit cunoscută pentru îmbinarea hard rock-ului cu elemente de folk rock, muzică clasică și tradiție celtică. O trăsătură caracteristică este rolul pronunțat al flautului și abordările compoziționale neconvenționale.
Albumul Stand Up a fost lansat în 1969 de casa de discuri Chrysalis și a devenit singurul album al formației care a ocupat primul loc în topul britanic. Discul cuprinde 74 de piese și marchează o deviere muzicală de la blues rock-ul albumului de debut This Was către folk rock și influențe clasice — unul dintre cele mai cunoscute momente este piesa instrumentală Bourée, o adaptare a unei lucrări de J. S. Bach. Reeditarea extinsă în ediție DigiBook cu trei discuri oferă albumul original, înregistrări bonus (inclusiv sesiuni BBC), mixaje noi în 5.1 surround, o înregistrare video dintr-un concert din ianuarie 1969 și alte rarități.
Stand Up este primul album cu chitaristul Martin Barre, care a rămas în formație până la dizolvarea ei inițială în 2011. La momentul lansării, componența era formată din Ian Anderson (voce, flaut, chitară acustică), Martin Barre (chitară electrică și acustică), Glenn Cornick (chitară bas) și Clive Bunker (tobe).
