Kamelot este o trupă americană de power metal din Tampa, Florida, care integrează în muzica sa elemente de metal simfonic și progresiv. Formația a fost înființată în 1987 de chitaristul Thomas Youngblood, iar de la albumul Siege Perilous, solistul norvegian Roy Khan a contribuit la scrierea versurilor.
Ghost Opera a fost lansat în 2007 de Napalm Records și este al optulea album de studio al grupului. Acest set digipack cu două discuri conține 25 de piese – primul CD include piese noi de studio precum Rule the World, The Human Stain și Love You to Death, iar al doilea disc combină versiuni live și materiale bonus, inclusiv un remix. Albumul a marcat și debutul noului claviaturist Oliver Palotai în cadrul trupei.
La momentul lansării, formația era compusă din Thomas Youngblood (chitară electrică), Roy Khan (voce), Oliver Palotai (claviature), Casey Grillo (tobe), Glenn Barry și Sean Tibbetts (chitară bas).
