Marillion este o trupă britanică de rock progresiv fondată în Aylesbury în 1979, care a devenit cea mai de succes din punct de vedere comercial formație neo-prog din anii 80. Cariera lor se împarte în două etape în funcție de solist — Fish (până în 1988) și Steve Hogarth (din 1989).
Albumul Holidays in Eden a fost lansat în 1991 de casa de discuri I.R.S. Records, fiind al șaselea album de studio al trupei și al doilea cu noul vocalist Steve Hogarth. Înregistrarea a avut loc în studiourile Hook End Manor din Oxfordshire și Westside Studios din Londra; a fost primul album scris complet fără vocalistul original. Această ediție americană pe LP diferă de versiunea britanică prin lista pieselor — conține 12 piese, inclusiv A Collection și How Can It Hurt. Printre alte melodii remarcabile se numără Cover My Eyes (Pain and Heaven) și Splintering Heart.
La momentul lansării, trupa era formată din Steve Hogarth (voce), Steve Rothery (chitară), Mark Kelly (claviaturi), Pete Trewavas (chitară bas) și Ian Mosley (tobe).
