Gerry Rafferty a fost un cantautor scoțian, cunoscut pentru hit-urile solo Baker Street, Right Down the Line și Night Owl. A fost și membru fondator al grupului Stealers Wheel, care a obținut succesul în 1973 cu piesa Stuck in the Middle with You.
Albumul Snakes and Ladders a apărut în 1980 ca al patrulea album de studio al lui Gerry Rafferty. Această ediție pe vinil conține un nou remaster half-speed realizat de Miles Showell în 2023, care evidențiază calitatea sunetului soft rock și pop rock al artistului. Printre cele douăsprezece piese ale albumului se remarcă Welcome to Hollywood, The Royal Mile și Bring It All Home.
