Rage Against the Machine a fost o formație rock americană din Los Angeles, care a îmbinat heavy metalul cu rap-ul, punk rock-ul și funk-ul, cu versuri anti-autoritare și revoluționare. Până în 2010, formația a vândut peste 16 milioane de înregistrări în întreaga lume. În 2023 a fost introdusă în Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Compilația ×2: Rage Against the Machine / Evil Empire reunește pe 2CD albumul lor de debut din 1992 și următorul Evil Empire din 1996, în total 21 de piese. Primul disc aduce piese precum Bombtrack, Killing in the Name sau Bullet in the Head, iar al doilea piese de tipul Bulls on Parade, People of the Sun și Vietnow. A fost lansat de Epic Records în 2003.
Formația a fost alcătuită din vocalistul Zack de la Rocha, chitaristul Tom Morello, basistul Tim Commerford și bateristul Brad Wilk.
