Sabaton este o trupă suedeză de power metal din orașul Falun, cunoscută pentru versurile inspirate de bătălii istorice și evenimente de război. Începând cu albumul Coat of Arms (2010), se clasează în mod regulat pe locurile fruntașe ale topurilor europene și efectuează turnee de concert ample în întreaga lume.
DVD-ul Swedish Empire Live surprinde prestațiile trupei din 2012 — concertul principal a fost înregistrat la festivalul Woodstock din Polonia, iar primul disc conține și o selecție de piese de la opririle turneului Swedish Empire din Göteborg, Londra și Oberhausen. Al doilea disc prezintă concertele complete din Göteborg și Oberhausen. Fanii vor găsi pe înregistrare piese precum Ghost Division, Primo Victoria, Carolus Rex sau Attero Dominatus, interpretate atât în versiune engleză, cât și suedeză.
La momentul lansării DVD-ului, formația era alcătuită din Pär Sundström (chitară bas), Robban Bäck (tobe), Thobbe Englund (chitară), Chris Rörland (chitară) și Hannes Van Dahl (tobe).
