Scorpions sunt o trupă germană de hard rock fondată în 1965 la Hanovra de chitaristul Rudolf Schenker. Se numără printre cele mai cunoscute și longevive formații rock, care au devenit sinonime ale heavy metalului melodic cu balade rock puternice.
Taken By Force este al șaptelea album de studio al trupei din 1977, pe care a apărut ca chitarist Uli Jon Roth (ultimul album cu el în trupă). Reeditarea din 2018 aduce pe lângă cele nouă piese originale, printre care se remarcă We'll Burn the Sky, The Sails of Charon sau He's a Woman – She's a Man, și patru piese bonus – în total 13 piese pe CD.
La momentul apariției albumului, componența era formată din Rudolf Schenker (chitară), Klaus Meine (voce), Uli Jon Roth (chitară solo), Francis Buchholz (chitară bas) și Rudy Lenners (tobe).
