Simple Minds este o trupă de rock scoțiană fondată în 1978 la Glasgow, considerată una dintre formațiile de succes ale anilor '80 și '90. Sunetul lor îmbină elemente de new wave și rock alternativ.
Dvoialbumul Live in the City of Angels a apărut în 2019 la casa de discuri BMG, fiind al șaptelea album live din discografia Simple Minds. Înregistrarea documentează spectacolele din cel mai mare turneu nord-american al trupei până în prezent și include 25 de piese pe 2 CD. Printre versiunile live se regăsesc hituri clasice precum Don't You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking, Waterfront sau New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84).
În perioada înregistrării albumului, Simple Minds activa în formula de șase membri: Charlie Burchill (chitară, claviături), Jim Kerr (voce), Ged Grimes (chitară bas), Sarah Brown (voce), Gordon Goudie (voci de fundal) și Cherisse Osei (tobe).
