Tears for Fears este o formație britanică pop-rock fondată în 1981 de Roland Orzabal și Curt Smith. Piesele lor melodioase, precum Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World și Mad World, au urcat în fruntea clasamentelor în anii optzeci.
The Seeds of Love a fost lansat pe 25 septembrie 1989 la casa de discuri Fontana Records, fiind al treilea album de studio al formației. Materialul îmbină sunetul epic al trupei cu influențe de jazz, soul și pop în stil Beatles. Producția sa complexă și sesiunile de înregistrare repetate au costat peste un milion de lire sterline. Din album provin hiturile Sowing the Seeds of Love, Woman in Chains și Advice for the Young at Heart, care au avut succes în topuri din întreaga lume. Această ediție pe două discuri cuprinde cele 8 piese originale și 16 versiuni bonus, remixuri și ediții pentru radio.
La album au contribuit Curt Smith, Roland Orzabal și cântăreața americană de muzică soul Oleta Adams, care a asigurat vocea de fundal.
