Voivod este o trupă canadiană de thrash metal progresiv din Jonquière, Québec, activă de la începutul anilor optzeci. Componența inițială a combinat speed metal-ul cu influențe progresive și a dezvoltat treptat un stil propriu, original, care a inspirat numeroase alte grupuri. Trupa și-a câștigat renume internațional ca una dintre primele formații canadiene de thrash metal care a depășit granițele genului.
Rrröööaaarrr a fost lansat în 1986 la casa de discuri Noise, ca al doilea album de studio al trupei. Discul marchează trecerea de la sonoritatea punk/thrash a debutului War and Pain către elemente metal mai progresive, pe care trupa le-a dezvoltat pe deplin pe albumul următor, Killing Technology. Această ediție pe 3 CD-uri conține în total 31 de piese: discul original, o înregistrare live din 1986 și materiale bonus, incluzând un rough mix din 1985 și înregistrarea primului concert al trupei din iunie 1983.
Pe album au cântat vocalistul Snake, chitaristul Denis D'Amour, basistul Jean-Yves Thériault și toboșarul Michel Langevin.
