Johnny Cash a fost un cântăreț, chitarist și compozitor american de muzică country, deținător a 18 premii Grammy. A fost celebru pentru vocea sa gravă de bariton, sunetul caracteristic al trupei de acompaniament Tennessee Three și imaginea scenică de „Man in Black” („Omul în negru”), sub care urca pe scenă la concerte. Muzica sa cuprinde country, gospel, rockabilly, folk, blues și pop.
Man in Black: The Very Best of Johnny Cash a apărut în 2001 pe CD la casa de discuri Columbia sub forma unei compilații pe 2 discuri cu 40 de înregistrări din repertoriul lui Cash.
