Voivod este o trupă canadiană de progressive-thrash metal din Jonquière, Québec, care din începutul anilor '80 și-a construit un sunet original propriu combinând thrash metal, rock progresiv, hardcore punk și crossover. Este una dintre cele mai originale formații din gen, stilul lor inspirând multe trupe mai tinere.
Killing Technology a apărut în 1987 la casa de discuri Noise și a fost primul album al trupei care a combinat sistematic elementele progresive cu baza de thrash metal. Albumul conține 31 de piese distribuite pe trei discuri. Primul CD cuprinde albumul de studio, al doilea o înregistrare live din 1987, iar al treilea înregistrări live din turneul mondial desfășurat în același an. Printre piesele-cheie se numără Killing Technology, Overreaction, Tornado și Forgotten in Space. Conform interviurilor contemporane, la mijlocul anilor '80 Voivod au fost influențați mai mult de hardcore punk și crossover decât de alte trupe de metal.
Pe album au colaborat vocalistul Snake, chitaristul Denis D'Amour, basistul Jean-Yves Thériault și tobarul Michel Langevin.
